Milz-Guillaume, Luella C. (31 JAN 1923 – 16 JUL 2019)

Luella C. Milz-Guillaume, 96, Loyal, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Abbotsford. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 20, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Varkey V. Joseph officiated and inurnment followed in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Luella Clara Albertson was born on Jan. 31, 1923, in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Emma (nee Balk) Albertson. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Cresco area. Luella married Edward L. Milz on Feb. 24, 1941, in Cresco. They farmed in Iowa until moving to a farm in the town of Beaver, rural Loyal, in 1959. Her husband, Edward, died on May 18, 1964. She continued farming until 1973. Luella married Paul A. Guillaume on Nov. 17, 1973 in Elgin, Ill. They resided in the town of Beaver where she was a homemaker and worked in home health care. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Beaver Center Homemakers, and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading and crocheting.

Luella is survived by her husband, Paul, of Loyal; her children: Sharon (Paul) Jirak of Decorah, Iowa, Pat (Larry) Lang of Marshfield, Duane (Karen) Milz of Medford, Raymond (Connie) Milz of Milladore, Nancy (David) Wucherpfennig of Loyal, Beverly (Brian) Johnson of Holmen, Dean (Julie) Milz of Loyal, Kenneth (Cynthia) Milz of Colby, Timothy (Donna) Milz of Loyal, and Susan (Floyd) Cochran of Fallon, Nev.; 35 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Ervin Albertson of Tama, Iowa, and Bud Albertson of Iowa City, Iowa; one sister: Emma Jean Pfiffner of Dewar, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; one son: James Milz; one daughter: Mary Milz; one sister: Angie Hiemerman; and one brother: Clifford Albertson.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Miller House in Thorp, Country Terrace in Abbotsford, and St. Croix Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and loving care they gave her the past few years.
