Brussow, Karl F.A. (22 SEP 1852 - 9 AUG 1933)

Karl, Frederick August Brussow was born at Strehlow, Germany, on the 22nd day of September, 1852. In early infancyhe was baptized in the name of the triune God and later instructed in the fundamental teachings of the Christian religion and confirmed at Potzlow, Germany by the Rev. Lueder. In 1877 he left his native land and came to the U. S. A. locating at Freeport, Illinois, where he worked until 1879 when he came to Clark Co., purchasing a farm in the Town of Loyal. On the 16th day of October, 1881, he was married to Miss Edith Rademacher, which union was blessed with 7 children, of which 5 children preceded the parents to eternity. In 1924 his wife preceded him to eternity, thus the deceased had hus share of sorrow in his life. The deceased was a charter member of the local church and during his long period of illness was always willing to receive the means of grace from his Pastor. Having disposed of his farm he retired to the Village of Loyal, and for a number of years made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Meier. For a number of weeks the deceased was continually in bed suffering from old age. Everything that human help and loving hands could do was done and on Wednesday a little after 3 P. M.., he was relieved of all his suffering by being called by a quiet and peaceful death out of time into eternity, thus making his age 80 years, 10 months and 17 days. The deceased now leaves to mourn two sorrowing children, viz; Mrs. Henry Meier, of Loyal and Mr. Arthur Brussow of Loyal, also three grand children and one sister, Mrs. Fredericha Stork, of Freeport, Illinois, besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1:00 P. M. at the home and at 1:30 at the Lutheran Church, the Rev. H. F. Leschensky officiating. Burial was mase in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Pall bearers were: John Rottjer, Ernest Rekow, Herman Kehrberg, Joe Zenz, Frank Luchterhand and Aug. Macksam.

Flower girls were Mrs. Chas. Rahm, Mrs. Chas. Clouse, Mrs. Wm. Walls, Mrs. Chas. Herdrich, Mrs. Wm. Kline and Mrs. Aug. Witt.
