Sischo, Devere "Pete" V. (August 27, 1923 - March 20, 1982)

Devere V "Pete" Sischo, age 58, was pronounced dead on arrival at Neillsville Memorial Hospital on Saturday March 20, 1982. Mr. Sischo was a Town of Pine Valley farmer and made his residence on R. #4 Neillsville, Wis.

Devere was born on August 27, 1923, in the Town of Weston to Roy and Jennie (Holt) Sischo. He received his education in Town of Weston schools and then farmed with his parents for several years. He also worked for a time as a milk hauler.

On November 4, 1945, he married Alice Strangfeld in Town of Pine Valley ceremonies. The couple purchased a farm near the Neillsville Mounds and continued to farm there the rest of his life. He was also employed by Boon Brothers Construction for many years.

He was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church of Pine Valley.

Surviving him besides his wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Vickie (Allen) Sischo-Steffen of Greenwood, Janis and Judy both of Neillsville; two sons, Terry and Dennis, both of Neillsville; a sister, Bernice (Willard) Priebe, of Sunnyvale, CA; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Lyle; and two sisters, Ione and Iva.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday afternoon, March 23, from the Zion American Lutheran Church-Pine Valley with the Rev. Maynard Stokka officiating. Burial was to be made in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Henning, Don ald Harris, Keith Durham, William Strangfeld, Ron Ormond and Donald Boon. The Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
