Wolff, John (27 Feb. 1859 - 9 July 1936)

John Wolff, retired merchant of Neillsville, passed away at his home on Grand Avenue.

Mr. Wolff was born February 27, 1859 in Sheboygan County. When he was 22 years of age he came to Neillsville and began work for Thomas Lowe in his meat market.

A short time later he returned to Sheboygan County and was there married to Miss Barbara Pfrang on January 1, 1882. They came back to Neillsville to make their home here and remained here practically the rest of their married lives.

About 1901 Mr. Wolff went into business for himself, continuing to carry it on for about 24 years, later retiring from active work. Both in his business relations and as a citizen Mr. Wolff had the confidence and respect of the entire community.

He was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor and friend.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, a son, George of Chicago and a daughter, Jessie, Mrs. E. J. Roberts of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; also two grandchildren, John and Glen Roberts. Another daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Tomz died a number of years ago.
