Mrs. Joseph Klune and children of Milwaukee, Wisconsin are here for a visit at the J. Horwat home.

John Pernick is busy haying on the former Frank Hren place.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Champa and family visited at the Frank Laken home Sunday.

Quite a few from here attended the Dolasse-Schwamb wedding dance held at Keller’s Silver Dome at Neillsville Monday evening.

Anton Janezich and family are entertaining company from Waukegan, Illinois.

Molly Perne and Pauline Prebil and Mrs. Wm. Zimmerman and daughter, Shirley of Watertown, Wisconsin are visiting with their parents here.

Mr. Frank Prebil Sr. and son Frank Jr. are putting on an addition to the barn for Frank Morgal.

Martins of Neillsville has finished sawing logs for Peter Belay the past week.

Quite a few assisted Frank Morgal with the *barn raising on Thursday.

Fred Schultz is having a concrete silo put up these days.

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kuflin and family of Milwaukee, Wisconsin are spending some time with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Klanche, Sr.

Emma Volk who is employed in Chicago, Illinois is here on a brief vacation.

May Volarich ad Frances Gosar also Tony Gosar were business callers in our vicinity Sunday.

 

*The above photo was taken on a Clark County area farm in 1910.  Several neighboring farmers joined in the “barn raising” task after the first floor of mortar and stone was completed.  The loft framework of beams was put in place to be followed by several roofing rafters, which were raised and set up in place by men pulling the ropes that were attached to the rafters.  They helped one another in such tasks, donating their time and efforts, being good neighbors by doing a favor that was returned in one way or another.
