McElree, Vivian (Marriage - 25 June 1936)

Vivian McElree, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel McElree, Waucoma, Iowa, was united in marriage tat 8 p.m. June 25 at St. John’s Lutheran Church to Victor L. Carl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Carl of Neillsville, Rev. William Baumann officiating in the double ring ceremony.

The church was attractively decorated in peach, pink and white crepe paper and baskets of peonies. The wedding march was played by Erich Sievert and "O, Perfect Love," was sung by Mrs. F. W. Kluhsman. The bride was attended by Frieda Nebel of Chili and Nelda Carl, sister of the groom. Flower girl was Lois Leonhard and Harland Carl, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer. He was dressed in white and carried a ring on a white satin heart-shaped pillow.

The groom was attended by his brother, Arnold, as best man and Emil Hauer.

The bride was prettily attired in a fitted gown of white satin, fashioned with an oval shaped train and long sleeves that came to a point over the hands. She wore a long tulle train edged with lace. Her flowers were yellow roses and bachelor buttons. Miss Nebel wore a gown of pink crepe and Miss Carl wore a costume of peach crepe with shoulder bouquets of yellow roses, for-get-me-knots and bachelor buttons.

A wedding supper was served by Mrs. E. J. Leonhard to 15 at the Leonhard Eat Shop, followed by a free wedding dance at the Dome. The couple left on a wedding trip through the southern part of the state, visiting the Wisconsin Dells, Madison and other points, returning home Sunday.

The bride was graduated from the Waucoma high school in 1935 and has been employed as a waitress at the Sweet Shop. She is a young lady of pleasing personality and highly spoken by all who know her. Mr. Carl graduated from the Neillsville High School in 1932 and is now employed on the new city hall. He is a likeable young man with many friends who joined in extending congratulations and good wishes to him and his bride.
