Schoelzel, Korliss Collette (15 MAY 1971)

Miss Korliss Collette Schoelzel, daughter of Rudolph Schoelzel, Route 1, Colby, and John Uhlig, son of Mrs. William Uhlig, Route 1, Colby, were married in a candlelight ceremony at 7 p.m. May 15, 1971.

The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix performed the ceremony at the First United Church of Christ in Colby (Clark Co., Wis.).

For her wedding the bride wore a Chantilly lace over taffeta full waisted gown, neckline and long sleeves accented by ruffles. Her cathedral train flowed from the waist. An organdy petaled headpiece held the illusion veil. Red roses, Fuji mums and pixie carnations composed the bridal bouquet.

Mrs. Patricia Seefeld, Rice Lake, served as matron of honor, and Mrs. Kathy Miller, Milwaukee, was the bridesmaid. They wore mint green dresses of nylon sheer over taffeta, empire waist with Cluny lace accents at neckline and sleeves, ribbon bow headpieces with nylon tulle. They carried bouquets of yellow pompons, light green carnations and baby's breath.

Lyle Schoelzel of Curtiss served the groom as best man. The groomsman was Paul Miller of Milwaukee. James Hudak, Marshfield, and David Erickson of Abbotsford were ushers.

The organist was Miss Jolcea Wachtendonk and soloist Edward Wachtendonk. Acolytes were DuWayne Sheets and William Schoelzel.

Approximately 250 guests attended the reception and dance at the Village Plaza in Spencer.

The new Mrs. Uhlig is a Colby High School graduate and attended Wausau Technical School. She was employed as a secretary receptionist at Consolidated Paper, Wisconsin Rapids.

The groom graduated from Colby High School and is employed by (??).

After a trip to northern Wisconsin the couple will be making their home at Route 1, Spencer.

Guests attended the wedding from Tennessee, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Lake Geneva, Union Grove, Stevens Point, Wausau, St. Croix, Shiocton, Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, and the Colby area.
