Galbreath, Hollie Burten (3 July 1920 - 19 Feb. 1936)

Hollie Burten Galbreath, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Galbreath, was born in the town of Washburn, on July 3, 1920, and died at the Wisconsin General Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 1936, aged 15 years.

Hollie spent all of his life in the Town of Washburn and attended the Irving School where he did very good work as a student. He was a likeable child and had many young friends.

For the last year he has suffered with a bronchial trouble, and on Dec. 12th, his parents took him to the Wisconsin General Hospital where he seemed to be making splendid improvement. However, on Saturday, Feb. 15, he was taken with pneumonia which proved fatal on Wednesday of this week.

Thus one more name is added to the list of those who in the flower of youth have been called to enter Life that is eternal.

Hollie is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Galbreath; by six sisters, Mildrid, Mrs. Oscar Ebert of Granton; Ada, Mrs. Arthur Opelt, of the Town of Levis; Vera, Mrs. Howard Bowen of Washburn; Genevieve, Mrs. Ed Holman of Washburn; and Eva and Opal, both of York; Vernon, of the town of Grant; Earl, Bobby, and Burl, all at home; and two half brothers, Ora Galbreath of South Dakota, and Glen Galbreath of the State of Oregon.

Many friends and neighbors extend sympathy to the bereaved family in this great loss.

Services were held at the Lowe Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 22, at two o’clock, the Rev. P. B. White officiating, and burial took place in the local cemetery.
