Bratz, Mr./Mrs. Fred (Gold - 6 NOV 1934)

On Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, a large number of friends and relatives gathered in the basement of the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Stanley to celebrate the golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bratz of Eidsvold, Clark Co., Wis.

Mrs. Bratz was born at Kiel, Wis., on Jan. 25th, 1866, and Mr. Bratz was born in Germany on the 14th of April, 1861. They were married at Kiel on Nov. 6th, 1884, and lived in Kiel the next two years. Then they moved to Peshtigo, where they lived for four years. Since that time they have resided in the town of Worden, Clark Co. Their marriage was blessed with six children, three boys, William, Walter and Frank Bratz, and three daughters, Anna (Mrs. hans Schultz), Flora (Deceased) and Elma (Mrs. Emil Seefeldt.

After the assembly sang the hymn "Jesus Still Lead On." Rev. F.H. Sprengler gave a fifteen minute address based on Luke 24: 28-29. A gift from the Epiphany Ladies Aid was then presented to the aged couple. Rev. Mitlien of the Norwegian Lutheran Church at Stanley then spoke a few words. Then the assembly sang the well known him, "Abide With Me."

Following the service a collection was taken for the Bratz’s in a beautiful basket, decorated with fifty golden hand-made roses.

After partaking of a substantial lunch, the celebration finally broke up.
