Gehrt, William C. (19 July 1893 - 5 Jan. 1981)

Neillsville - Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gesche Funeral home for William C. Gehrt, 87, who died Monday at Memorial Hospital.

The Rev. William Noble of United Methodist Church is to officiate and burial will be in Neillsville Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and until services Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Gehrt was born July 19, 1893 in Clark County to Henry and Wilhelmina (Luck) Gehrt and received his education here. He worked in California several years, and then returned to the Neillsville area where he worked as rural mail carrier.

He also farmed in the town of Levis before retiring and moving to the city. He had resided at Memorial Home the past two years.

A member of the United Methodist Church, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Claire Planteen of Roseville, Calif.

Gehrt, William C. (19 July 1893 – 5 January 1981)

The Gesche Funeral Home was the site for the Thursday afternoon, January 8, services for William C. Gehrt, 87, who passed away on January 5. The Rev. William Noble of the Neillsville United Methodist Church officiated with burial made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Offering music for the services were Mae Peters and with Iris Musil, as accompanist. Serving as pallbearers were Albert Mohr, Ernest Mohr, Albert Smith, Robert Opelt, Donald Johnson and Carl Gehrt.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Gehrt, Wauwatosa; Mrs. Kenneth Gehrt, Sr., and Kenneth Gehrt, Jr., both of Nashotah; Walter Gehrt, Wisconsin Rapids; Harland Gehrt, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gehrt, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gehrt and Lena, all of Loyal; and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gehrt, Rib Lake.
