Langreck, Ferdinand (9 MAY 1909 - 21 MAY 1994)

GREENWOOD, Clark Co., Wis. - Ferdinand John "Ferd" Langreck, 85, formerly of Greenwood, died at 8:15 a.m., May 21, 1994, at Neillsville Memorial Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood, with the Rev. Steven Baures officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Antone, Francis and Harold Langreck, Jim Horn and Robert and John Wieting.

Visitation will be at Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, from 4-9 p.m. today with a prayer service at 8 tonight.

He was born May 9, 1909, in St. Lucas, Iowa, to the late John and Mary (Meiners) Langreck. He received his education in Neillsville, Wis. He married Cecelia Wilson Aug. 27, 1935, in Neillsville, and she died Jan. 8, 1994.

After his education he farmed and worked on the railroad. After his marriage, he farmed in Neillsville for two years and then moved to Greenwood, where they also farmed. He worked for Roddis from 1948-1964. He bought the Parkway Bar in 1963 and operated it until 1976. After his retirement, he worked for Green Thumb.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and Catholic Foresters.

Survivors include four sons, Francis (Marie) Langreck of Cottage Grove, Minn., Joseph (Mary) Langreck of Lancaster, Robert (Elaine) Langreck of Spencer, and Gregory (Cathy) Langreck of Greenwood; four daughters, Josie (Lawrence) Lindner and Pat (Richard) Sheer, all of Greenwood, Mary (Frank) Trunkel of Woodville, and Janet (Neil) Krause of Curtiss; two sisters, Agnes Aumann and Rose Noll, both residents of Neillsville Memorial Home; 34 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by two children, Cecelia and Donald, five brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.
