Kuesel, Janet (Marriage – 31 May 1975)

Miss Janet Kuesel and Vernon Kostrzewski were married May 31 in a 3 p.m. ceremony performed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Riplinger, by the Rev. David J. Ault. Later, the couple greeted guests at a reception at the Village Plaza in Spencer.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kuesel of Riplinger. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kostrzewski of Strandquist, Mn., are the groom’s parents.

Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an empire style gown of white satin fashioned with a Chantilly lace bodice, shepherdess sleeves, a deeply ruffled hemline and a chapel train. Her flowers were pink roses, white carnation and baby’s breath.

Miss Elsbeth Kuesel, Spencer, was the maid of honor and Miss Sue Lyon and Miss Kathy Pryer, both of Riplinger, were bridesmaids. They wore gowns of flocked nylon over crepe in shades of green, yellow and pink, respectively, with picture hats in hues to match their dresses. Green, yellow and pink pompons with baby’s breath formed their bouquets.

Attending the groom were Gary Bond, Rapid River, Mi., as bestman and Wilbur (Babe) Witte, Riplinger, and Ralph Tryba, Marshfield, as groomsmen. Don Wisnosky, Riplinger and Jay Block, Colby, shared ushering duties.

Mrs. William Martens was the organist and Mrs. David Ault, the soloist.

Prenuptial showers honoring the bride were given by Mrs. Arthur Halverson, Mrs. James Schmutzler, Mrs. Bill Lyon, Sue Lyon and Kathy Pryer.

The new Mrs. Kostrzewski is a 1975 graduate of Colby High School. Her husband, who attended Stephen Mn. public schools is employed by a railroad line.
