Cline Cradle, 86, of Stevens Point Dead

Cline Cradle, 86, of Stevens Point, died at a private hospital there at 31 p. m. on Monday of old age complications following a two weeks' illness. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Boston funeral home in Stevens Point with interment in the vault.

 

Re was born in Germany and came to the United States with his parents at the age of three years. From Meehan Station, where he had lived on a farm, he moved to Stevens Point while a young man. His marriage to Anna Smart took place in 1935. He was the grandfather of Mrs. Clyde Herrick of Nekoosa and the step-father of Mrs. F. H. McCoog, also of Nekoosa.

Mrs. Clyde Herrick, Mrs. William Eberlein, Mrs. Walter Radke and Mrs. Ernest Stevens drove to Stevens Point to pay their respects at the funeral of Mrs. Herrick's grandfather, Cline Cradle.  Mrs. F. H. McCoog and her sister Mrs. William Ott of Milwaukee attended funeral services at Stevens Point for Cline Cradle on Thursday.

Cline Cradle has rented Lou. Smarts farm and with his own place it will give him all he can do. He wants to buy a team of horses this spring. Mr. Smart talks of moving to Stevens Point in the spring.

MEEHAN.  

 

Mrs. Cline (Nellie) Cradle, who had been sick for about two years with heart trouble, had a paralytic stroke last Tuesday and failed rapidly until the end came Sunday morning. She passed into her long sleep surrounded by husband, children and friends. All during her long illness she was tenderly cared for by husband and daughter. She bore her long affliction patiently and passed to her reward trusting in the promises of the Savior whom she had served so long. The deceased was born in St. Louis, Mo , March 18, 1865, was married to Wm. Barnman, who is in North Dakota. Ruth and Katie, who live at home. She also leaves besides two sisters.

 

Mrs. Henry Peterson of Chicago, and Mrs. Fred Wainser of St. Louis. All were present at the funeral except William and Mrs. Wainser. She was married to Cline Cradle Dec. 22. 1905, her first husband having died several years before. The funeral was held from the church Tuesday at 1 p. m. Rev. Raymond officiating. A large number of friends attended the funeral. The interment was made in the local cemetery, P. R. Slack, William Clussman, B. S. Fox, Frank Winkler, S. E. Warner and E. G. Thompson acted as pallbearers. The deceased was a most kind and sympathetic woman and was loved and respected by all. The family desire to thank the kind friends who extended the helping hand both during the illness and funeral of their loved one.

 

Dearest mother thou hast left us

And thy loss we deeply feel.

But it is God who has bereaved us—

He can all our sorrow heal.
