Kaudy, Ione Marie (Marriage - Oct. 1935)

Married at the First English church, Ashland, Miss Ione Marie Kaudy, daughter of the late John Kaudy of Christie and Robert Arthur Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Aflred Johnson of Ashland, Wis. Rev. E. B. Swanson read the ceremony.

Miss Margaret Gannon of Park Falls played a prelude while the minister, groom and best man too their places at the altar. Mrs. Guy Brown sang "All For You", Mrs. Clayton Kellogg accompanied her at the piano. Miss Gannon played Lohengrin’s Wedding March while Mrs. Edward Korzilius, matron of honor, little Patricia Metzdor, flower girl preceded the bride to the altar. After marriage vows were exchanged, Mrs. Brown sang "I Love You Truly", after which Miss Gannon played Mendelson’s recessional while the brideal party left the altar.

The bride wore white satin and carried a bouquest of briar cliff roses, bride’s roses and baby’s breath. She wore a veil fashioned in cap form with tiny white mums at the back. Mrs. Korzilius wore a brown silk crepe gown with hat and accessories in brown and carried bronze pom poms and talisman roses. The flower girl wore pale green silk and carried a basket of white baby mums and pink baby’s breath.

Immediately following the ceremony the bridal party and guests assembled in the church parlors where a reception was hled and refreshments served. The tables were decorated in pink and yellow and on the bride’s table tall pink tapers burned while the bride cut the beautiful pyramid cake.

At six o’clock the wedding party and relatives drove to Springs Inn where a wedding dinner was served. Tables were decorated in yellow candles and yellow mums.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson left for a short trip and when they return will be at home to their friends at the Silver Hotel on Seventh Avenue, Ashland.

Jerrold Andstrom and Erwin Metzdorf were ushers.

Out-of-town guests were: Mrs. Belle Leichtnam, Miss Freda Nystrom of Hurley, Mrs. Roy Anys, Watersmeet, Mich., Mrs. Keith Shingler and daughters Carroll and Sandra of Sidnaw, Mich., Miss Louise Peck of Ontonagan, Mich., Maurice Peck of Rose Lawn, Mich., Miss Margaret Gannon and Eugene Gannon of Park Falls.
