Eggebrecht, Frederica (4 NOV 1834 - 25 OCT 1905)

Mrs. Carl Eggebrecht died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Meier, in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., Wednesday, Oct. 25th, 1905.

Frederica Granzow was born in Prussia, Germany, Nov. 4th, 1834; she was united in marriage to Carl Eggebrecht Oct. 2nd, 1855, and six years later, Oct. 13th, 1861, they came to America, settling at Detroit, Mich., where they lived for twenty-three years, removing to Colby in 1884, and have since resided in the town of Hull. She was the mother of seven children, 3 sons, William of Marshfield, Harry, town of Hull, and Charles, present address unknown, and 4 daughters, Mrs. Wm. Meier, town of Hull, Mrs. Jos. Bondie, Taylor Township, Green Co., Mich., Mrs. Eugene Wicker, Medford, and Miss Lizzie, town of Hull, all of whom were here to the funeral, except Charles.

On the 20th day of July, 1896, she suffered a sunstroke, which formed an abscess on the lining of the brain, leaving her in a sorrowful condition, gradually failing until death relieved her suffering.

Aunt Eggebrecht was a kind and lovable wife, mother and neighbor, and the large number from the neighboring towns who escorted the remains from the residence to the church and cemetery attest the high esteem in which she was held by all who knew her.

The funeral was held from the German Evangelical St. John’s Church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. Janke officiating. Interment at Colby Cemetery.
