IN MEMORY OF MYRTLE M. STEELE

Peaceful by thy silent slumber,

Peaceful be thy silent grave;

Thou no more will join our number,

Thou no more our song will know.

Yet again we hope to meet there,

When the Day of Life is fled:

And in Heaven with joy to greet thee,

Where no farewell tears are shed.

..........................One of the Family

"Gone but not forgotten." Gone to meet Him who said: "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." Father and mother, by the Eye of Faith can you not see that little angel hand beckoning you hither? Little Myrtle was very bright, smart and pretty. God always takes the brightest jewels of the flock to call our attention heavenward.

Myrtle shines in the light of God.

His likeness stamps her brow,

Through the valley of death her feet have trod,

And she reigns in glory now.

No breaking heart is there:

No keen and thrilling pain,

No wasted cheek where the frequent fear--

Has rolled and left its stain.

O friends of Myrtle dear,

The trusted and the true..

You are watching still by the valley of tears--

But, she waits to welcome you.

Do I forget, Oh no.

For memory's golden chain

Shall bind my heart to the hearts below,

'Til they meet to touch again.

Each link is strong and bright,

And each electric flame

Flown free down like a river of light

To the world from whence I came,

Do you mourn when another star,

Shines out from the glittering sky;

Do you weep when the raging voice of war,

And the storms of conflict lie.

Then why should your tears run down,

And your hearts be sorely riven,

For another gem in the Saviour's crown,

And another soul in Heaven.
