Wilkening, H.F. (1835 - 22 JUL 1904)

H.F. Wilkening, who had the misfortune of fracturing his right leg between the knee and ankle, July 9th, and gangrene having set in, had the limb amputated July 20th by Drs. Doege of Marshfield, Johnson of Abbotsford and Jensen of this city, died at his home in the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., Friday morning, July 22nd, 1904. The deceased was in the 69th year of his age and came here about three years ago from Waukesha County. The old gentleman was well liked by all who became acquainted with him and his many friends will sympathize with the children and other relatives.

The remains were taken to Dousman, Waukesha Co., Sunday night for interment, accompanied by his sons, Henry of Texas, George of Wyoming, William of Waukesha, his nephew, Frank Schmidt of Melrose, and niece, Mrs. F.A. Hess of this city.
