Strathmann, Herman (3 APR 1834 - 24 FEB 1902)

Died, at his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., on Monday, Feb. 24th, 1902, of cardiac dropsy and heart failure, Herman Strathmann, in the 68th year of his age.

Herman Strathmann was born April 3rd, 1834 in Germany. He was united in marriage with Louisa Stegmann in 1859. This union resulted in the birth of six children, four of whom are living. His first wife died in 1870, and in 1871 he came to America, locating in Milwaukee. In 1881 he was united in marriage with Margaret Daly, who survives him, and in 1884 they came to Colby, settling on the farm where he died.

Mr. Strathmann was an honest, upright man, quiet and unobtrusive, and respected by his acquaintances. He had been in poor health for the past two years, but had been confined to the house only about two weeks.

The funeral will be held this forenoon from St. Johannes Church, Rev. E. Herrmann officiating.

The surviving children are Mrs. Mary Landt, Milwaukee, Fred, William and Lizzie Strathmann, Colby.
