Awe, Edwin (24 May 1883 - 1959)

Owen - Funeral service were held Thursday afternoon at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home here for Edwin Awe, 75, who died Monday in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. The Rev. Harold Miller of the Jehovah Witnesses conducted the rites. Burial was made at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Melvin Buckholz, Edgar Buchholz, Ruben Schulte, Harry Lipprandt, Walter Fink and Norman Behringer.

In charge of the flowers were Anita Buchholz, Lorinda Fink, Corene Wirtala, Gertie Owen, Ilene Wirtala and Susan Awe.

Organ music was played by Mrs. Russel Weaver.

Mr. Awe was born May 24, 1883, in the Town of Longwood. He married the former Freda Schulte on March 27, 1907. They farmed in the town of Green Grove until 1953. Since January of 1958 they had made their home at the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen, Wis.

The survivors include three sons, Edward Awe, Cuputino, Calif.; Lester Awe, Manitowoc; Royal Awe, Colby; five daughters, Mrs. Steve (Adeline) Konik, Cleveland, Wis.; Mrs. Uno (Norma) Kolpanen, Owen; Mrs. Clark (Laura) Van Gorder, Manitowoc; Mrs. Erwin (Gertha) Jable, Westchester, Ill.; Mrs. Walfrid (Dorothy) Wirtala, Waukegan, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his mother, two sisters, Gertie and Emily, all of California, and one brother, Henry Awe of Owen, Wis.
