Fox, Lizzie (30 AUG 1898)

Married, at the St. Kilian’s Church on Tuesday morning, Aug. 30th, 1898, at 6 o’clock, by Rev. G. Vadder, Mr. Frank Schaller and Miss Lizzie Fox, both of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.).

Mr. Schaller, the groom, has been a resident of this city for nearly six years and for three years has been in the employ of July & Wolf. The bride has been a Colbyite a little more than a year and nearly the whole of that time she has been in the family of Henry Meritt. They are a fine couple and have any number of friends, all of whom wish for them the best that dame fortune cans bestow.

After the ceremony the bridal couple and attendants, Messrs. Peter Phillippi and Matt Teeporten, and Miss Maggie Phillippi and Katie Engeldinger, and the officiating clergyman, repaired to the home of Henry Meritt, where a wedding breakfast had been prepared.

A few minutes after eight o’clock the happy couple was escorted to the depot, where they boarded the 8:25 train, amid a shower of rice and good wishes, for a visit to Sheboygan, Manitowoc and other lake shore towns, where they will be gone two or three weeks, when they will return here and be at home after Sept. 15th, in the house of Warren Young on Division St.

There has not been a wedding here for some time where the bride and groom had a greater number of friends or were followed by stronger good wishes for future happiness and welfare.
