Ewert, Bonnie Lee (Marriage - 22 Aug. )

Miss Bonnie Lee Ewert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Ewert, Fond du Lac, was given in marriage by her father to Wilbur W. Witte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Witte Sr., Unity, during a double ring marriage ceremony Saturday, Aug. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity.

The Rev. Charles Vander Stoep had charge of the marriage rites during which Mrs. Dorothy Olson sang "O Promise Me" and "Because."

Mrs. Richard Witte Jr., Spencer, sister-in-law of the groom, wore a strapless gown of yellow topped with a lace jacket and carried yellow carnations and white gladioli when she served as matron of honor.

Another sister-in-law of the groom, Mrs. Hubert Witte, Unity, and Miss Arlene Witmer, Spencer, were frocked like the matron of honor in pink and green, respectively, when they enacted the roles of bridesmaids. Each had a bouquet of white gladioli and carnations matching their dresses.

Richard Witte Jr., Spencer, was his brother’s best man and another brother, Hubert Witt, Unity, and William Marten, also of Unity, were groomsmen. Edwin Ewert, Wausau, an uncle of the bride, and Herbert Witte, Unity, brother of the groom, ushered.

Little Sandra and Suzanne Olson, twins from Unity, were the flower girls. They carried blue carnations and white gladioli.

The white strapless net over satin bridal gown was designed with a lace jacket which had sleeves coming to points at the wrists. The finger-tip veil of French illusion was attached to a rhinestone crown. Red roses and white carnations formed the bridal bouquet.

The bride's mother wore a flowered navy blue dress with red accessories with which she had a corsage of pink roses and yellow carnations. Red roses and yellow carnations formed the corsage for the groom’s mother, who wore a black dress with matching accessories.

The reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents in Unity.

The new Mrs. Witte received her education at Unity, Wis. High School and her husband at Colby, Wis. High School. He is employed at the Pauly and Pauly Chesse Factory, west of Riplinger.

Guests for the wedding came from Fond du Lac, Spencer, Arpin, Marshfield, Wausau, Owen, Carnell, and Loyal.
