Scheer, Irene M. (14 Sept. 1915 – 9 Nov. 2002)

Irene M. Scheer, 87, Colby, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at the Colonial House, Colby, where she had resided since March of 2002.

She was born Sept. 14, 1915, in Riplinger, the daughter of Leo Charles and Ella (Molle) Duvall. She received her early education at the Cloverdale School in rural Colby.

On June 10, 1936, she married Orland F. Scheer in Unity. They farmed in the town of Green Grove and Mrs. Scheer was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe factory, Marshfield for 21 years. They moved to Uity in 1968.

Mrs. Scheer is survived by two daughters, Joanne M. (Kenneth) Kasper, Unity and Sheryl A. Hamilton, Colby; one son, Wayne A. (Jane) Scheer, Unity; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; twin brothers, Melvin Duvall and Alvin Duvall; three sisters, Lila Seefled, Lorraine Wescott and Arva Fischer; and one great-grandson, Trent Hardrath.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The Rev. John Clasen presided. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Craig Hamilton, Travis Hardrath, Troy Hardrath, Christopher Gosse, Clinto Goose and Austin Bodendorfer.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for the handicapped accessibility fund.

Community Funeral Home, Colby assisted the family with arrangements.
