Meissner, Steven L. (21 Oct. 1959 - 22 July 2005)

Steven L. Meissner, 45, N6409 Fair Haven Ave., Chili, died on Friday evening, July 22, 2005, in the town of Lincoln, as the result of an auto accident.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church in Marshfield. (Nasonville) The Rev. Daniel J. Behnke will officiate and Jean Harmening will be the organist for soloist, a niece, Mandy Meissner and congregational singing. Greg Reierson will also be a soloist. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Meissner, Matthew Garrand, Jeremy Meissner, Tyler Dovenbarger, Gene Marty and Steven Krekowski.

The visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and on Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. until service time.

Steven was born Oct. 21, 1959, in Neillsville, the son of Norman and Elaine (Ott) Meissner. He attended Marshfield schools and was a 1977 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He then attended Horst International School of Cosmetology in Minneapolis.

After his education he returned to Marshfield where he purchased Trend Setters Salon, which later became High Street Salon and Travel which he operated until the present time.

Steve was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as a former choir director, Main Street Marshfield, and an active member of Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He enjoyed showing horses, American Saddlebreds, singing, traveling, flower gardening, yard landscaping and spending time with nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents, Norman and Elaine Meissner, Chili; his brothers and sister, Edwin "Butch" (Sharon) Meissner, Chili, Jerrold (Diane) Meissner, Chili, David (Tammy) Meissner, Chili, and Sandra Garrand, Salt Lake City. He is further survived by 14 nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews. He is further survived by many close friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Thelma and Walter Ott, his paternal grandparents, Edwin and Bertha Meissner, a sister, Melody Dovenbarger and a nephew, Travis Dovenbarger.

Memorials may be designated in his name to Grace Lutheran Child Care Center.
