Firnstahl, Loraine M. (30 June 1932 - 4 Dec. 2001)

Loraine M. Firnstahl, 69, Colby, died on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Mrs. Firnstahl was born on June 30, 1932, in the town of Longwood, the daughter of Joseph and Caroline (Gay) Teclaw. She was a 1950 graduate of Owen High School and attended UW-River Falls.

Her marriage to Paul Firnstahl took place on July 18, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The couple lived in La Crosse before moving to Wausau in 1960, and then to Colby in 1968.

She was a homemaker, and was seasonally employed with Figi’s, Marshfield. She enjoyed training horses and served as general leader for many years with the Caballero’s 4-H Horse Club.

Mrs. Firstahl was also a avid flower gardener, a member of the Cherokee Home Makers, and served in various positions with the Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Diane Krebsbach, Wausau, and Cindy (Leroy) Fricke, Colby; one sister Alicia Teclaw, Marshfield; one brother, Donald (Ruth) Teclaw, Milwaukee; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Father John Malik. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Colby. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with family and friends will be on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at the Community Funeral Home, Colby, from 4-8 p.m. There will be a Christian Mothers’ rosary at 4 p.m., with a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be on Friday, at the Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
