Gary E. Bonitz, 55, Stevens Point, formerly of Spencer and Mosinee, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, north of Spencer. Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 9, at First Assembly of God Church, Plover. The Rev. Daniel Winkleman officiated.

Gary E. Bonitz was born March 24, 1950, to Ernest and Joan (nee Wrege) Bonitz. He was a graduate of Spencer High School. He married Cynthia Yonker on June 27, 1970, in Marshfield. He was one of the first people to help Mrs. Tack with her rose garden in Spencer. He was a senior account manager for CUNA Mutual Group. He loved to garden and loved his family. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Plover, where he served as Sunday school superintendent.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia "Cindy" Bonitz, Stevens Point; his mother, Joan Bonitz, Spencer; two daughters, Rainy Day (Thomas) Worzella, Stevens Point, Mindy Joel (Christopher) Cooper, Mosinee; Two adopted sons, Niron Bonitz, Wausau, and Scott Bonitz, Merrill; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Lou Ann (Glen) Dahlke, Mosinee, and Lynn Martin, Mellen, and one brother, Bruce (Sheri) Bonitz, Spencer.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home, Spencer, assisted the family with arrangements.
