Mohr, Fred A. (4 Oct. 1898 - 26 June 1970)

Fred Andrew Mohr, age 71, died on Friday, June 26, 1970.

Mr. Mohr was born on October 4, 1898, to Andrew and Minnie (Thelke) Mohr in Rhinelander. His family came to farm in Clark County when he was about 5 years old.

He married the former Blanche Begley on March 8, 1922, in Neillsville, Wis. They farmed in Pine Valley until 1950. He was employed by the Omaha, Chicago North Western Railroad for many years, and retired in 1965. He had been in ill health since 1968.

Surviving him is his wife and six children: Donald Mohr, and Mrs. Harry (Ruby) Ambelang, both of Neillsville; Harold and George Mohr of Eau Claire; Mrs. Roy (Beatrice) Quelle of Oronoco, Minn.; and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Waller of Withee; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Stiemke and Marie Mohr, both of Neillsville; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is a sister, Johanna as a young child and a brother Christian Mohr.

Funeral services for Fred were held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Frederick Stelter, Joseph Resong, Walter Aumann, Art Norman and Herb Wagner. Mrs. Harold Mayer sang, "I’m But a Stranger Here" and ‘Rock of Ages", accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Wegner.

People attending from out-of-town included: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mohr and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Mohr and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Newman, all of Eau Clare; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Quelle and family of Oronoco, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. George Waller and family of Withee, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lange, and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Newton, of Fond du Lac. Barbara and Brenda Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Grottke of Marshfield, Mrs. Rudolph Novak, Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Wold, Maynard A Olson of Merrillan, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Quelle of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Tykac of Chili, Mrs. Meta Oppermann of Milwaukee, Harley Mohr and Mrs. Alaina Kanthack of Winona, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ebert of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Belling, Anna Toll, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Petrick of Rosendale; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Moore and daughters of Brookfield, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Klein of El Dorado.
