Fischer, Donald "Bud" (27 Dec. 1920 - 22 Feb. 1997)

Donald (Bud) Fischer, 76, Unity, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997, at Continental Manor Nursing Home, Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, Rev. John Clasen presided. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronald Seefeldt, Jerry Neumann, William Goose, Greg Skubal, Mike Bennett, and David Wescott. Honorary pallbearer was Tyler Hardrath.

Mr. Fischer was born Dec. 27, 1920, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Walter and Bertha (Koch) Fischer. On Feb. 5, 1944, he was united in marriage to Arva Duvall at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. He farmed and logged before becoming an auctioneer and real estate salesman in 1960. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arva Fischer of Unity; one daughter, Lind Fischer of Unity; two sons, Jerome (Connie) Fischer of Colby, and Larry (Renee) Fischer of Bloomer; one granddaughter, Sheri (Dennis) Rieck; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Colten Rieck; five sisters, Violet (Arnold) Seefeldt of Spencer, Florence Adler of Grays Lake, Ill., Jane (Irving) Bennett of Wisconsin Rapids, Darlene Meer of Florida, and Geraldine (Orville) Vick of Holtwood, Penn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church handicap access fund.
