Willman, Ole C. (16 Dec 1855 - 18 Sep 1920)

Ole C. Willman was found dead in bed at his home five miles north of town (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) last Sunday, by his brother and family, who just happened to drive out there during the afternoon. A physician who was called, stated that death had probably come Friday night or early Saturday morning. Mr. Willman had been in town Friday afternoon and made numerous purchases at the different stores. He kept no team and usually carried his groceries home in a sack on his back. This time his purchases included an amount of hardware and chain from J. R. Zook's store, and it is thought the extra exertion brought on an attack of heart trouble that terminated his life. Deceased was unmarried and lived alone on his land north of this village. The body was brought to M. Kretschmer's undertaking rooms and prepared for burial.

Funeral services were held at the home of his brother, C. F. Willman, on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. J. W. Kendall preaching the sermon. Burial was in the Mentor Cemetery, the Modern Woodmen camp, of which he was a member, conducting the services at the grave.

Ole C. Willman was born in Norway, Dec. 16, 1855, and while a child he moved with his parents to Filmore Co, Minn., making his home with his mother on a farm near Ivanhoe until her death. In 1905 he came to Wisconsin and located near Humbird. Mr. Willman was 64 years, 10 months and 2 days of age at the time of his death. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Aaron Johnson of the town of Cleveland, and three brothers, C. F. of Humbird, James and Charles of Ivanhoe, Minn., all of whom were present at the funeral services.
