Markham, Chester (8 Sep 1885 - 30 May 1907)

Chester, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark A. Markham, was born Sept. 8, 1885, near Osseo, Wis., and when only nine days old his parents moved to this county (Clark). But soon after they moved to Eau Claire Co., where they lived for eighteen years, returning to this place a couple of months ago. He died Thursday night, May 30, 1907. A week before his death Chester, while ill, walked 12 miles into Fairchild to take the train for home. He missed the train and remained in Fairchild over night. The exposure brought on an attack of Pneumonia, which resulted in his death. He is survived by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church Sunday afternoon and the remains were interred in the Mentor Cemetery.
