Glen Lavey, 84, Neillsville, died Monday evening at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the York Center Methodist Church. The Rev. C. Arlene Denzer will officiate and Charlotte Drescher will be organist for congregational singing. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, from 5 - 9 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church. He was born April 24, 1903, in the town of Grant to Frank and Lily Lavey. He received his education in the town of Grant school and graduated from Granton High School. He also attended Milwaukee Motor School. He married Elizabeth Johnson Oct. 31, 1925 in Neenah. He was employed by the A.O. Smith Co., Milwaukee until moving to the town of York where they farmed. After retirement, he started a tree nursery at his home. He was a resident of the Memorial Home Neillsville the past four months. He was a member of the York Center Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Norbert of Nekoosa and David of Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Joan) Buchanan of Kaukauna; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
