Ronald P. Hetzel, Sr., 53, of 618 East 25th Street, died 11:30 p.m. July 25, 1998, at his residence. He had been in ill health for many years battling cancer. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel. The Rev. James J. Logan, pastor of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral chapel. Mr. Hetzel was born August 21, 1944, in Greenwood, to Ray G. and Lucy (nee Krutsch) Hetzel. He married Sarah J. "Sally" Byer on June 23, 1973, in Marshfield. He was educated at Granton Elementary School, Loyal High School and graduated from Granton High School in 1962. Ron was employed in the automobile sales and repair business for many years until his bout with cancer. He worked part-time for the Weinbrenner Shoe Outlet in Marshfield. Survivors include his wife, Sally Hetzel; two sons, Ronald (Cathy) Hetzel Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and Dean (Barbara) Hetzel of Granton; two daughters, Lisa Marie Hetzel and Susan Elizabeth Hetzel, both of Marshfield; and three grandchildren, Sydnie Hetzel and Daniel and Natasha Hetzel. He is also survived by his mother, Lucy Hetzel of Granton; and by his sister, Pat (Wally) Hinkelmann of Rochester, Minnesota. He was predeceased by his father, Raymond G. Hetzel.
