Fremont Gardner, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Gardner former residents of the town of Loyal, accidently shot himself on Bass Lake near McCord. He with some other boys had been hunting and came to the lake to skate awhile. They laid their guns down and put on their skates, then as Fremont reached for his gun to unload it he took hold of the barrel and pulled it toward himself and in some way the gun discharged. He lived about six hours. His body was brought to Granton Wednesday morning and the burial took place at York Center Thursday afternoon.
