The funeral of Jerry Davis took place in the M. E. church here last Monday afternoon, Rev. J. H. Chatterson conducting the ceremony. He died very suddenly at his home at Marshfield last Thursday morning.

Another obituary from unknown ----Source: Jerry Davis a well known former town of York resident died very suddenly at his home in Marshfield at 5 o'clock on Thursday morning of last week. His death apparently the result of rheumatism from which he had suffered much the past year. Deceased was born in Pennsylvania sixty years ago. He was married in Iowa to Miss Mary Jones. They came to Clark County from Fond du Lac County 21 years ago and settled on a farm in the town of York, only moving to Neillsville ten years ago that their children might have better educational advantages. Six years ago they moved from Neillsville to Marshfield. Deceased is survived by his wife, their 6 sons, Jesse of Minneapolis, David and Edward of Lake Mills, Morton of the town of York and Jay of Marshfield, by two daughters, Mrs. Jesse Mortimer and Mrs. W. E. Benedict of the town of York and by 11 grandchildren. Funeral services under I.O.O.F auspices were had at Marshfield Saturday and at the York Center M. E. church here on Monday at which time Rev. Chatterson of the Loyal M. E. church officiated. Interment was made in the family lot in the York Center Cemetery. All the children and their families with the exception of David's wife from Lake Mills were here and in attendance at these funeral ceremonies as was also her brother David Jones of Lynn Grove, Iowa, his brother Noah Davis of Spencer, Iowa, his niece Mrs. Poole and her daughter of Rib Lake, and a Mrs. Post and daughter of Fond du Lac. Deceased was a highly respected man, an esteemed friend and neighbor in every community that he resided in and in the home circle a well loved husband, father and brother.
