Dorothy E. Rueth, 75, Loyal, died on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at St. Joseph's Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Dec. 24, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burialwas in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Pat Fons, Matt Weyer, Todd Rueth, Aaron Rueth, Bucky Rueth and Jesse Rueth.

Dorothy Elfreida Frye was born on April 2, 1924, in Milwaukee, to Earl and Paula [nee Stoeckman] Frye. She lived with her family in Milwaukee until they moved to Mineral Point, where she received her education and graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1942. Her family then moved back to the Milwaukee area and Dorothy worked at Allis Chalmers and Harvester during World War ll. In 1946 her family moved to Loyal, and she was employed at the Marshfield phone company. She married Sylvester Rueth on June 28, 1947, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She raised five children and farmed with her husband until their retirement in 1981, at which time they moved to Loyal. Following their retirement from the farm, she had several jobs including a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital, a nanny, a cook at the Clinique Resturant in Marshfield, and a customer service representative at Figi's. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, and a member of LaMere's prayer group in Marshfield. Her interests were many, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family, flower gardens, birdwatching, crafts, and cooking. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Sylvester Rueth, Loyal; two daughters, Barb [Ollie] Schultz, Colby, and Mary [Joe] Weyer, Loyal; three sons, Mike Rueth, Loyal, Bill [LuAnn] Rueth, Loyal, and Joey [Deb] Rueth, Neillsville; 11 grandchildren, Jacqui [Pat] Fons, Tobi Schultz, Tawnee Schultz, Todd Rueth, Jesse Rueth, Bucky [Liz] Rueth, Aaron Rueth, Tiffany Weyer, Matt Weyer, Hannah Weyer, and Tony Rueth; three great-grandchildren, Chelsa Fons, Renny Fons, and Stetson Rueth; one brother, Don [Marilyn] Frye, Mt. Horeb; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Raphael Rueth, in infancy.
