Hilda Humphrey

Hilda E. Humphrey, 54, Dixon, Ill., died Thusday, Nov. 27, 2003 at Kindred Hospital, Sycamore, Ill., after battling cancer. Private funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 1, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, Ill. The Rev. Dick Wisdom and the Rev. Dan Qualls officiated. Entombment was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, Ill.

Hilda E. Hofer was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa, to Eric and Naomi (nee Clark) Hofer. She married Roger Humphrey on June 22, 1968, in Camanche, Iowa. She was an antique dealer for many years, and most recently, worked for E & M Antiques, Dixon, Ill. Her interests included spending time with her family, antiquing, breeding Chow dogs, and feeding ducks and geese by the river.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Humphrey, Dixon, Ill.; three daughters, Tina (Brian) Gonnerman, Spencer, Tracey (Joey) Lovgren, Rockford, Ill., and Rogene (Chad) Maxon, Aurora, Ill.; two step-daughters, Dani White and Leslie Humphrey, both of Carlsbad, Calif.; one brother, Robert Hofer, Alaska; two sisters, Judy (Bud) Martin, Centerville, Iowa, and Joan (Cecil) Young, Rock Falls, Ill.; five grandchildren, Avery Lovgren, Faith Lovgren, Gracey Lovgren, Dylan Gonnerman, and Wesley White; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

A memorial has been established.

Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, Ill., assisted the family with arrangements.
