Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for the late Mrs. Lucinda Moody, at the M. E. Church in Withee, whose death occurred Tuesday, June 3, 1930, at Whittier, Calif., the Rev. Irish of Thorp, officiating.

Mrs. Moody, up until a few years ago, was a resident of the village of Withee, owning and operating a hotel at that place for a long period of time. It was through her successful management that she won for herself a large acquaintance of friends, both social and in a business way. She sold her property there a few years ago and went to Minneapolis, where she resided at the home of her son, Robert, until late last fall, when she went to California to spend the winter.

While in California she became ill, and for the past several weeks had been under the best medical skill, but their efforts to check her disease were fruitless, and she slept quietly away.

Her remains were accompanied by her youngest son, Earl, and his wife, residents of Los Angeles, Calif., and upon their arrival here were met by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Moody of Ironwood, Mich., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moody of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. F. Reed of Chicago, children of the deceased..

Following the services at the church at Withee the body was taken to Greenwood, where interment took place beside that of her husband, whose death occurred many years ago.

Those from out of town attending the funeral, besides her sons and daughter, were: Mrs. Louise Krause, Virginia, Minn., Miss Agnes Johnson, Mrs. P LaBerge, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Tufts, Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Barager of Eau Claire; Mrs. Ella Bestel, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Granger, Chippewa Falls.
