Eckhoff, Edward J. (6 Dec 1885 - 7 Dec 1927)

Edward J. Eckhoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Eckhoff, was born Dec. 6, 1885, at his country home near Buda, Ill. He spent his boyhood days on the farm and attended the country school. When twenty years of age he went to Saskatchewan, Canada, where he worked on a farm for one years. He then went to New Rockford, N.D., to attend the Phillips Academy. After graduating from this institution he again returned to Canada and worked on a farm for his oldest brother. It was here he met Miss Nellie Melvor, whom he married on Nov. 29, 1916. In the spring of 1918 they came to the vicinity of Curtiss, Clark County, Wis., where they made their home. Two children, Margaret and Kenneth, were born to bless this union.

When Mr. Eckhoff was nineteen years of age he confessed his faith in his Savior Jesus Christ and was united with the Congregational Church of Providence, Ill., April 1904. His membership was later transferred to the Congregational Church of Curtiss.

Mr. Eckhoff passed from this life Dec. 7, 1927, a few hours after his forty-second birthday. He leaves to mourn, his wife, one daughter, one son, his mother, six brothers, four sisters, and a number of relatives and friends.
