He had been in ill health for more than a eyar, and was 70 years of age.

Monday morning he was at the Barrett home, and that was the last seen of him until Mr. Barrett went to his home Thursday morning and found him dead. The cause of death was heart disease.

Mr. Clifton had been a resident of this section of the country (Clark County, Wis.) for a number of years, conducted a cabinet workers shop in the village of Withee. He was an excellent carpenter and was a steady worker at his trade. About four years ago he went tot he farm of J. B. Barrett, where he had been employed until moving into his small house, where he had recently made his home.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday of last week, Rev. Titus officiating and burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.
