Richards, Alice (Engagement - 1984)

An August 18 wedding is planned by Alice Richards and Dean Rollins. Their engagement was announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Richards of Porterfield. Dean is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Verlyn Rollins, Granton. Both Dean and Alice are students at UW-Stevens Point. She is majoring in dietetics and Dean is studying physical education, health and coaching. The couple will be wed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Walsh.

Ives, Bonnie (28 January 1984)

Bonnie Ives, Rt. 2, Neillsville, and Jim Mayenschein, Greenwood, exchanged wedding vows January 28, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Neillsville, with the Rev. Paul Forde officiating.

The bride was given away by her father. She is the daughter of Calvin and Lorraine Ives, Rt. 2 Neillsville. The bridegroom is the son of Norman and Rita Mayenschein of Greenwood.

Maid of honor was Chari Ives, Neillsville, the bride’s sister, the bridesmaids were Debbie Drescher, Neillsville, bride’s sister; and Jerri Lynn Mayenschein, Greenwood, groom’s sister. They wore burgundy or pink Victorian style gowns and carried yellow and white roses with burgundy forget-me-nots.

Bestman was Mark Kercher, Neillsville, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Tom Drescher, Neillsville, bride’s brother-in-law; Chuck Maciosek, Rice Lake, friend; Marvin Mashin, Neillsville, bride’s brother-in-law; and Randy Cook, Greenwood, friend. They wore grey tuxedos. David Whitman, Fairchild, Bride’s cousin, and Joe Mayenschein, Greenwood, groom’s brother, ushered guests to their seats.

Jesse Fitzmaurice, Neillsville, bride’s cousin, was ringbearer, and flowergirl was Jenni Mayenschein, Greenwood, groom’s sister. Organist was Judy Kay Mayenschien, groom’s sister. Jim Herrick, groom’s cousin, sand “Endless Love,” “Up Where We Belong” and “Amazing Grace.”

The bride’s gown was Victorian style with a bodice trimmed in lace and sequins and layers of lace on the skirt and train. She carried a cascade bouquet of red and white roses and white forget-me-nots. The groom wore a gray tuxedo with tails, white vest and tie and a red rose boutonniere.

A wedding reception and dance were held at the American Legion Hall in Neillsville.

The bride is a 1981 graduate of Neillsville High School. The groom graduated from Greenwood High School in 1978. He is meat department manager at the IGA store in Greenwood. The couple is residing at 306 Andrews Ave., Greenwood.

Prenuptial events included a shower by the bride’s sisters and aunts and another by the groom’s mother at her home. The couple plans to take a wedding trip at a later date.

Chili-St. Stephen’s Catholic (Confirmands - 1984)

Confirmation was bestowed on 29 students from St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Chili Saturday evening with the Most Reverend Bishop John P. Paul of the Diocese of La Crosse officiating. Francis Steiner was the instructor of the class.

Those confirmed were Bob Armbruster, Patti Arbelovsky, Doug Becker, Pat Cliver, Jenny Dachel, Tod Eckes, Kurt Hildebrandt, Mark Paun, Jim Perrin, Dione Spaete, Becky Wesenberg, Mike Armbruster, Ted Conner, Bryan Cullen, Chris Dahlke, Marie Dachel, Susan Miller, Rick Rollins, Tim Rhodes, Terry Schmitz, Angie Pettit, Ann Steiner, Brian Steinwagner, Ann Virnig, Cheryl Welch, Jane Hoesly, Amy Kosek, Lisa Krasselt and John Weis.
