I. Stockwell, who has been doing operator work in S. Dakota, returned home Friday to see his ma.

George Curtiss has established a dray line in this city, and is hustling around for a share of the patronage.

Cy Stockwell, the Granton depot agent, was in the city Monday to visit his ma. He has lately become all absorbed in the bible and religion.

A new girl is reported to have arrived at Joe Lowe’s home, Sunday night. Joe would have given the hair on his bald head if it had but been a boy.

CIRCUIT COURT PROCEEDINGS: Owing to the non-appearance of his honor Judge Bailey Monday of last week the court was not set in running order until his arrival Tuesday morning.

Convictions in criminal cases were as follows: Sam Cawley, verdict of guilty of grand larceny, sentenced to three years in the state prison. State against Charles Agin, larceny, six months in jail. State against Frank Bantkowski, larceny, six months in jail. State against A. J. Smith, larceny, thirty days in jail. State against Peter le Clare, bigamy, two year in state prison.

The case of Sanford S. Andrews vs. Town of Mentor was dismissed, a judgment for plaintiff in the sum of $50 was found. The Minnesota Thresher Co. vs A. D. Gatbusch was dismissed. The case of Frank J. Benisch, an infant, who sues by Frank Benisch, his guardian, ad litem, vs Jacob Pezer, will be tried in Black River Falls, Nov 5th. A judgment for the plaintiff was found in the case of R. H. Tolford vs A. M. Briggs. A. Meinhold vs John Walters, facts stipulated and taken under advisement. A divorce was granted in the case of Wm. Luloff vs Nellie Luloff. Anna Bielor was separated by divorce from Fred Bielor, s also was Emma Barter form John Barter. A judgment for the plaintiff was secured in the case of W. R. Adkin vs Wm. F Pearson. H. H. Chandler vs G. A. Austin, judgment for defendant. Peter La Flex vs Byron Butler, judgment reversed. Richard Townsend vs John Paulus, taken under advisement
