We hear that Mr. Zassenhaus was seen opening a hole in his barn to accommodate Jim Campbell’s and Joe Hansen’s hens. He knows that Easter is close at hand and eggs are nice thing to have anyway.

Jas. Canon got the ends of two fingers on his right hand cut off Friday forenoon while operating a sticker in the Novelty Manufacturing Co.’s plant. Drs Esch & Lacey dressed the wounded hand, and now Jim is taking a rest from his labors. H. S. Chase and son Olliver will start from Granton next Monday with a car load of stock for their future home in St. James, Mo. His wife and remainder of family will go there to join her husband in a few weeks. Hod expects to purchase a fruit farm in that locality and go into fruit raising. Thus Clark county loses one of its citizens and Phelps county, Mo., gains one.

Robert Garvin, one of the progressive farmers of Pine Valley, was in the city Tuesday. He has abandoned logging and is going into dairying. He will milk 8 cows the coming season. Is breeding Jerseys. Thinks they are best for butter. He sends his milk to the Neillsville creamery managed by Mr. Walker. Sent his milk there last season and was well satisfied with his treatment.
