In a letter to his parents, which we are permitted to copy, Jason Mack gives an idea of what is required in La Crosse university. He says: "We had to sign a contract that contained ten articles. Some of the principal ones are that we shall not use intoxicants or go into any saloon or disreputable place, or use cigarettes. Another is that we shall not copy. The violation of either of these means public expulsion from the university. Then again, the people where we board are required to report every week as to whether we are sick or not, how late we are out, and about the paying of our board, and some other less important articles. So you May see from this that it stands anyone in hand to carry themselves straight. I tell you the whole four of us have behaved first class since we have been down here as every one of us are in for business."
