Peterson, Anna C. (16 MAY 1857 - 22 OCT 1915)
Anna Caroline Olson Peterson was born at "Lands Prestyeld" Voldris, Norway, May 16, 1857 and died at Marshfield, Wis. Oct. 22, 1915.
Her father and family immigrated to Houston Co., Minn. in 1870 and their they lived for three years, then moved to a farm near Longwood in Clark County, Wis. until the death of her father. They then came to Curtiss, where she met and married Peterson in the year 1874. They settled at once on the homestead where they have lived for forty-one years.
To them were born twelve children, eleven of who are living: Casper at Ryder, N. D.; Mrs. J. T. Rice of Minneapolis; Mrs. J. Harrany of Foster, Ore.; Mrs. Asher Anderson of Hannaford, N. D.; Peter of Spring Valley, Minn. and Anna, William, Anton, Edwin, Alfred and Lawrence of Curtiss. In addition to these she leaves to mourn her loss, an aged mother, two sisters, Mrs. Lokken and Mrs. Britton of Motley, Minn. and one brother, Andrew Olson of Curtiss.
Mrs. Peterson's life has been one of continued activity, being spent in doing for her large family, for whose welfare she was ever ready to sacrifice herself. Her friends were numbered only by her acquaintances, all who mourn her death.
In her early life she became a Christian, and in her last days she found a great comfort in the teachings of our Lord.
Those from away who were present at the funeral are: Mr. and Mrs. Asher Anderson and Tony Peterson of Hannaford, N. D., Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Rice of Minneapolis, and Mrs. G. P. Harrang of Foster, Ore.
