Van Dreel, Leona (Marriage - 3 JUL 1929)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the St. Mary's Catholic Church last Wednesday, July 3, 1929, Rev. H. Lachnit officiating, when Miss Leona Van Dreel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Van Dreel of Colby, Wis., became the bride of Mr. Alfred Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Carter of DePere, Wis. Miss Loretta Van Dreel, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by his cousin, Leo Leanna.

The bride was attired in a beautiful dress of white georgette with wreath and veil and carried a bouquet of roses, sweet peas and carnations. The bridesmaid wore a dress of pink georgette and head band and carried a bouquet of roses and sweet peas.

A wedding reception was given at the home of the bride's parents for immediate relatives only, the home being nicely decorated in pink, white and blue for the occasion. In the evening, a free wedding dance was given at Cherokee Hall, which was largely attended by relatives and friends.

The young couple left on a wedding trip to Appleton, DePere, Green Bay and Milwaukee, and will be at home after July 14th at Oconto, Wis., where the groom is employed at construction work.

Those present for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Carter of DePere, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carter of Greenleaf, Wis., Stella Carter of DePere, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Diers of Colby, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Van Dreel and family of Colby, Wis.

The bride and groom are well known to friends in and around Colby, who wish them a long and happily married life.
