Erickson, Blanche (2 DEC 1898 - 15 JUN 1927)

Mrs. Blanche Daines Erickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Daines of Colby, Wis., died at her home near Dorchester, Town of Holton, Marathon Co., Wis., June 15, 1927, uremia being the cause of death. Funeral services were held Monday, June 20th at the farm home near Milan, the Milan Lutheran minister officiating, and interment made in the Milan Cemetery.

The deceased was born Dec. 2, 1898 in Wisconsin, thus reaching the age of twenty-eight years, 6 months and 13 days. She came to Colby when two years old and spent most of her life here. She was married to John Erickson at the farm home near Milan, Sept. 9, 1925, to which union one child was born, which died at the time of birth.

Besides her husband and parents her death is mourned by two sisters and two brothers, namely: Mrs. J. Erickson, Milan; Miss Mildred Daines of Colby; Clifford Daines, Colby; and Cyrus Daines, Colby.

Those from out of town here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Worley B. Glenn of Viroqua, Wis. About twelve relatives from Racine, Kenosha and Milwaukee were also here.

The deceased, having lived in Colby practically all her life, was well and favorably known here and her many friends will be sorry to hear of her departure. As she was only ill three days, the news of her death came as a shock to everyone. A short time before her death, she visited in Colby and was seen on our streets greeting her friends with a happy, "good morning." Today, all that is mortal of a kind friend is at peaceful rest in Milan's silent city.
