Mr. Harrison, Circuit Court reporter was in the city yesterday to take notes in the Allen case set for June 1st. As the corpse was not present, the funeral had to be postponed.

Hugh Perkins, it is said, is keeping saloon down in Texas, and wishing for a better man than a Texas Cow Boy to assist him, sent for And Allen to come down and tend bar for him.

Dan Allen’s dulcet voice is no longer heard in the corridors of the Clark County jail, warbling that beautiful song commencing "Say, are ye sleeping, Maggie."

We understand that the people of Loyal are talking over a scheme to come down and burn the jail and take the steel cages home to make hencoops of. We trust they will be king to "Dear Maggie," and take her with them to look after the chickens. It’s too bad that so much sweetness should be wasted in the desolate
