(Marriage - 22 JUN 1926) A number of
readers will be interested to read of the marriage of Miss Jennie
Vera Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Cook of Unity, Wis.,
and Bernett W. Mabbott of the same village, which took place
Tuesday at 8:00 o'clock at the First Methodist Church of Unity, the
Rev. Clarence W. Hanscom officiating. The bride has as
her maid of honor, Miss Marisa Thayer of Unity and the Misses Fae
Cook and Loran Mabbott as bridesmaids. Sewell Cook of Wausau was
best man and the groomsmen were Osmond Topdahe and Gerold Scott.
The little flower girl was Shirley Scott. The bride was
dressed in white crepe de chine and wore a veil of tulle and
carried an arm bouquet of roses. Miss Thayer wore yellow crepe de
chine, Miss Cook orchid crepe and Miss Mabbott old rose crepe, and
all carried arm bouquets. Preceding the ceremony Miss Fae Cook
sang, "He Knows the Way," and the church choir gave two
numbers. A reception and
supper followed at the home of the bride's parents, covers being
laid for one hundred. Orchid, yellow and white decorations were
used throughout the house. Mr. and Mrs.
Mabbott have departed for the Northern Lakes to spend their
honeymoon, and after July 1st they will be home to friends in
Unity. The out of town
guests at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Holmes of Wilmore,
Kentucky, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Fleming and daughter, Doloria of
Sheridan, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Dixon of Eau Claire, Mr. and
Mrs. E. C. Hirsch of Rice Lake, Mrs. D. L. Stinson of Oshkosh, Mrs.
A. E. Mason, Miss Leta Mason and Joe Niehaus of Marshfield, Mrs. F.
C. Hulce and Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Fink of Mosinee. Miss Amy Cutts of
Madison, Mr. and Mrs. Q. D. Poulten, Marian Poulten and Miss
Dorothy Poulten of Loyal and the following from Wausau, Mr. and
Mrs. L. H. Cook, and children, Miss Mabel Cook, Mrs. J. H. Vogt,
