Obituary:

Floyd H. Boon, 78, Greenwood, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2003, at his home. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 25, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Rev. Meg Erickson, Merrill, officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist. Pallbearers were his nephews, Allan Boon, Donald Boon, Duane Boon, Dennis Oldham, Leroy Oldham, and Fed Zais.

Floyd Hrold Boon was born Dec. 30, 1923, in the town of Weston, to Leonard and Ethel (nee Brown) Boon. He attended the Forman School in York Township, and then continued to work on the family farm. Eventually, he and his brother, Clayton, took over the operation of the farm. He farmed his entire life. When he was not farming, he enjoyed making toys for kids, including chairs and wagons.

Survivors include two brothers, Alfred Boon, Neillsville, and Clayoton "Duke" Boon, Granton; a sister, Florence Zais, Eau Claire; a breother-in -law, Ray Oldham; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Dorothey; one brother-in-law, Frederic Zais; and one sister-in-law, Lucille Boon.

Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
