KATTIE L LANGRECK

As the result of an automobile accident north of Neillsville, Kattie L Langreck, 17, died Saturday, August 30, 2003.

Kattie Lynn Langreck , was born to Roger and Brenda (Holman) Langreck, on December 25, 1985, in Marshfield, WI. She was a student at Neillsville High School, entering into her senior year. She was planning in the future to attend Chippewa Valley Technical College to earn a degree in nursing. She was a member of the POMS dance squad at school, and she served as a student athletic trainer for the football team, preparing the players before practice and games. Kattie was currently employed at the Neillsville Pizza Hut and had just recently been promoted to service-trainer. Some of her favorite things were gymnastics, dancing and just hanging around with her friends.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Katie is survived by her parents, of Neillsville; one sister, Lacey Langreck, of Neillsville; her grandparents, Ruth Holman and Robert "Buck" DeMert of Neillsville, and Harold and Dorothy Langreck of Neillsville. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rosalie Langreck, an uncle, Danny Holman, and a cousin, Serena.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Kattie was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The celebrant was Father Donald Wilger. Music provided by Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Interment was made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home. That same evening, a scripture service was held at 8:30 p.m., followed by a rosary service at the Gesche Funeral Home, in Neillsville.

Casket bearers were her uncles and cousins: Dan, Jim, Peter, Bronson, Jonathan, Bennett, and Seth Langreck, and Tim Marek, Jr.

Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with the funeral arrangements.
