Golson, Joyce E. (21 Nov 1946 – 1 Feb 2022)

Joyce E. Golson, age 75, of Thorp, WI, passed away at Marshfield Medical Center, in Marshfield, WI, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. A Celebration of Life for Joyce will be held later this spring.

Joyce Elaine Dunlap was born on November 21, 1946 in Sandy, UT., the daughter of Robert M. and Ruth D. (Coleman) Dunlap, Sr. She was raised in the Sandy area and graduated from Hillcrest High School. After high school, Joyce attended Utah State University earning a Master’s Degree in Education. She taught at Utah State University for a few years before going to work at Holy Cross Hospital in the Pathology Department as a medical transcriptionist. Joyce retired and moved back to Thorp to care for her parents, where she resided until her death.

She had many interests, but especially enjoyed art, Bluegrass music, camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by her twin sons: Andrew (Kim) Wood of Kearns, UT., and Jordan (Kim) Wood of Wellsville, UT.; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and two siblings: Jill Dunlap of Thorp, and Robert (Barb) Dunlap, Jr. of La Crosse, WI.; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Allan Dunlap.
